This is great news for people who want to drink Shakeology but may have been concerned about its glycemic index.

Many people follow the glycemic index when choosing which foods to eat. If you are not familiar with the GI, it was developed by Dr. David J. Jenkins to find out which foods were best for people with diabetes. Carbohydrates that break down quickly during digestion and release glucose rapidly into the bloodstream have a high GI; carbohydrates that break down more slowly, releasing glucose more gradually into the bloodstream, have a low GI. [source: Wikipedia]

The good news is that Shakeology is now certified low glycemic. It has a 24 GI rating which is low. The GI scale ranges from 0 to 100 with the higher numbers given to foods which cause the most rapid rise in blood sugar. Foods with high GI include white bread, pretzels, French fries, and most processed foods. The kinds of foods we should limit in our diets.

What is even more amazing is that Shakeology’s GI rating of 24 is much lower than most fruits, some vegetables, and pretty much every processed food ever made. Now there is even more reason to become a fan of Shakeology.

Find out why so many people drink it daily. Experience the benefits for yourself.

Woman Jumping Rope

In the past, I have had my share of ups and downs in terms of staying on a regular exercise schedule. I have had moments where I’ve worked out for a week straight and then gave up the next week. However, now I’m on a good schedule of working out 5 to 6 days per week and it doesn’t feel like a chore. It has become a part of my routine. Maybe you are experiencing a similar situation where you workout consistently for a week or so and then go back to your old habits of lounging around.

Here are some ways to help you stay focused and consistent with your exercise routines.

1. Find your motivation – You have to have a reason for working out. We hear all the time why it’s good for us but if that were enough of a reason, then everyone would do it. Find your purpose for doing it whether it is to look better, feel better, or just to improve your overall health. Find your why and keep it in mind when you exercise.

2. Take the pressure off – The last thing you want to do is exercise out of guilt. That takes the fun out of it. Exercise because you want to and because you are focused on your goal. If you feel like taking a day off from it, then do it and get back on track the next day. You are not in competition with anyone.

3. Always keep exercise fun – A lot of people view exercise as boring, a chore, and just a waste of time. We naturally do things that are fun and make us happy. Exercise can be this way if you choose activities that make it interesting. This may mean joining a fit club, taking up a sport, or working out with buddies. Add various activities you enjoy to your workout routine and keep things fresh and interesting.

4. Find a program that teaches you what to do – When people get into workout slumps it is often due to not knowing how to exercise. Sometimes we all just need some guidance. I am one of those people who didn’t know what to do on a regular basis. If you are in the same situation, then I recommend getting on a good fitness program that tells you what to do each day. For example, I don’t have to guess what workout I’m going to do when I use P90X. It’s already planned out. I auto schedule the workouts into WOWY and I’m all set for 90 days.

One of the big reasons Shakeology® is so popular is because it is well-known for helping people to lose weight. In a 90-day research study conducted by Beachbody, the participants average weight loss was 10 pounds and 2 inches off of their waists. However, it is important to understand how to get the best results from using the product.

The participants of the study replaced one meal a day with Shakeology, ate a balanced diet and exercised moderately three times per week. Notice it doesn’t say that they ate whatever they wanted and sat around. In order for you to get the best results with the shake, you must do your part to follow a clean eating lifestyle as well as exercising on a regular basis.

The easiest way to do this is to follow any of the excellent in-home fitness programs that Beachbody has produced like P90X, Turbo Fire, Body Gospel, etc., because each program comes complete with a nutrition plan and guides on how to use the programs. Combine a workout program with Shakeology and you should experience great results.

Besides an average weight loss of 10 pounds, other results from the 90-day study included:

By the end of week 1
- Improved digestion and regularity
- Reduced cravings

By the end of week 4
- Increased energy and stamina
- Lost weight
- Improved mental clarity

By the end of week 12
- Lost 10 pounds and 2 inches off waist on average
- Reduced risk for diseases, including heart disease
- Lowered cholesterol on average by 30% and even up to 70%
- Healthier skin, hair, and nails
