Many people cannot afford the fees of joining a gym and many people waste their gym memberships by not going. I went to my gym almost every day but I recently canceled my membership anyway. I did so because I got to a point in my life where the gym is no longer a motivating factor for me to workout. I enjoy working out and the exercises I did at the gym, I can do for free on my own.
Having a home gym doesn’t have to cost a lot of money. There are some basic eseentials that I recommend for anyone who wants to get into shape at home. Here is a list of items that are affordable and can be used together to help you lose weight and get into fabulous shape.

- Resistance bands
- Jump rope
- Exercise DVD’s
Besides running, I have the above equipment for working out at home. You would be surprised at how many exercises you can do using the above or just your own bodyweight. The best part is the convenience. Some people will say that they won’t workout at home because they lose motivation.
The same can be said for those who waste their gym memberships by not going. Motivation has to come from within. A strong desire to lose weight and get into shape for whatever reasons you believe in will get you moving. Now I can save money on gas and the time driving back and forth by working out at home or running outside.
