This is great news for people who want to drink Shakeology but may have been concerned about its glycemic index.
Many people follow the glycemic index when choosing which foods to eat. If you are not familiar with the GI, it was developed by Dr. David J. Jenkins to find out which foods were best for people with diabetes. Carbohydrates that break down quickly during digestion and release glucose rapidly into the bloodstream have a high GI; carbohydrates that break down more slowly, releasing glucose more gradually into the bloodstream, have a low GI. The good news is that Shakeology is now certified low glycemic. It has a 24 GI rating which is low. The GI scale ranges from 0 to 100 with the higher numbers given to foods which cause the most rapid rise in blood sugar. Foods with high GI include white bread, pretzels, French fries, and most processed foods. The kinds of foods we should limit in our diets.
What is even more amazing is that Shakeology’s GI rating of 24 is much lower than most fruits, some vegetables, and pretty much every processed food ever made. Now there is even more reason to become a fan of Shakeology.
Find out why so many people drink it daily. Experience the benefits for yourself.
