I’m not going to deny it. Exercising 6 days a week is hard. I don’t wake up every morning rip-roaring and ready to go. There are days when I would be happy lounging around and putting off exercising for another day. Yet, I make the commitment, stick to it, and I exercise 6 days a week. What is my motivation? There are several things that keep me motivated to workout. Here are a few:
- Exercise makes me feel better so I want to do it often
- My progress – I love seeing results
- Health – I need to lose this excess weight and be healthy
- Inspiring others – I like when I receive feedback from others how I’ve inspired them to exercise
Besides those main things, I also get motivation from reading fitness magazines or watching sports on television. I also get motivation from my own Beachbody® Coach who drops by my blog and gives me words of encouragement. This blog also keeps me motivated as I track my progress. Check out my post about why you should start a fitness blog.
We all need to find our own sources of motivation. Exercise is a challenge for a lot of people. I know people who absolutely HATE exercising but regardless of their reasons for why, I only see them as making excuses. Here are some good quotes to remember:
“Our health always seems much more valuable after we lose it.” – Unknown
“Look to your health; and if you have it, praise God and value it next to conscience; for health is the second blessing that we mortals are capable of, a blessing money can’t buy.” – Izaak Walton
Yours in Health,
